Prokofiev has been the subject of several documentary films. Those are mostly fairly conventional "birth-to-death" affairs. Some use one of the commonest forms of documentary "prelude": a montage of various interviewees' thoughts on the subject, or funeral scenes, making the film something like a huge flashback. Beyond that they usually comprise different permutations of the staple ingredients of the documentary form: archive footage and stills, interviews, music performance and recreations of historical events - though this is not to say that they are unenjoyable or devoid of insights.
