Among the numerous postgraduate students who have worked over the years with the archival holdings, three have deposited their PhD thesis at the Archive after graduating:

Stephen Press
"Prokofiev's Ballets for Diaghilev", University of North Carolina, 1998.

Caroline Brooke
"The Development of Soviet Music Policy, 1932-1941", University of Cambridge, 1999.

Lesley - Anne Sayers
"Le Pas d'Acier: a study in the historiography and reconstruction of George Jakulov's set design for Diaghilev's 'Soviet' ballet", University of Bristol, 1999.

Russian scholars who have made use of the archival materials include Dr Natalia Savkina and Professor Viktor Varunts (who died prematurely in September 2003), both from the Moscow Conservatoire, and Dr Elena Poldiaeva, formerly Assistant Editor at the music journal, "Sovetskaia Muzyka". Daniel Jaffé was the first biographer to consult the Archive's unpublished sources when he was researching for his "Sergey Prokofiev", published by Phaidon Press in 1998. David Nice, the Reviews Editor of "Three Oranges", worked with the Archive documents over a period of three years in preparation for his seminal biography, "Prokofiev from Russia to the West 1891-1935", published by Yale University Press in 2003.
